Mom had provided a bag of M&M's and some white frosting to write with so we could decorate the cake for Dad. When I asked Simon if we could write "Happy Birthday Grandpa" on the cake he said "nope." I asked him what we should write, and he said "S-I-M-O-N." (Yes, he can spell his name...he doesn't fully understand it, but he's got the spelling memorized.) So I complied. Figured Dad wouldn't care.
