Our house in New Mexico is still for sale. You can see it here. We loved this house - it was our first! But now we're living in Michigan & would really love to be able to feel settled...by having our NM home sell to a new owner. We recently lowered the price again and our agent called soon after. Evidently right after the price dropped there were several interested parties, two of whom were serious enough to request a copy of the inspection.
Here's a little history for you. We put the house on the market while I was still pregnant with Anson. After just a few months we got an offer that we accepted, but it was contingent on the buyer's home selling. It didn't; she didn't renew the contract; some months had passed and we were back at square one. Bummer.
So we've dropped the price to get the attention of potential buyers in the area and we're continuing to pray for the right buyer. As my parents keep reminding me when I get discouraged: "It only takes one buyer." We just pray that the right party will see the house, love it and buy it. Both of our boys were born in that house (literally) and we have several years of livin' & lovin' memories there. As much as we pray for a buyer, we really hope that whoever buys it will love it as we have. It's a great house in a sweet neighborhood full of kind neighbors - and has a great view for sunrises and fireworks and just watching the sky.
Anyway, as we enter the weekend we feel hope. Bouyant, effervescent hope! There is interest in the house again - now that we've dropped the price I think it's a real steal! And our agent seemed pretty confident that we'd hear something within a few days.
Pray! Pray really hard that we'll get some more good news - like an offer on the table. Or, even better, that both interested parties will be so interested there will be a bidding "war" and we'll get more for it than we expect to. That would be sweet.
Even though it's a dreary, sticky, rainy grey day here (and probably beautiful in Silver City with vivid blue skies that you just don't see anywhere else) we feel hope going into this joyous weekend!
