Independence Day Festivities

After the truck unloading and the haircut, there was real fun to be had. First to Grandma Lizzy & Grandpa Gerry's house where Simon played frisbee with Tia Melissa & her boyfriend, Andy.
Then to the home of some friends for dinner. Simon & Anson checked out the kiddie pool.
Simon did his first sparkler. And his second. And third. I think it was on the third one that he got too curious and grabbed the red part, burned his fingers, and refused to get near them anymore. Maybe next year we'll be able to try again!
Then Bill & Jeannie had fireworks to do a little show in the backyard. They were supposedly going to be just sparks, not whistles & bangs. A few weren't labeled correctly, and Simon had enough after a little while. The high-pitched shrieking ones were too much for his sensitive ears, so Adam protected him while they watched from the porch. I think Anson actually slept through this part of the evening. Welcome to Michigan and happy Independence Day! Quite a week for the Lange family!
