Saturday we went to the beach! After a week full of travel, unpacking, cleaning, and chaos, it was prescribed therapy to play in the sand & sun & water. We went to Holland and, thanks to my Aunt & Uncle with a cottage, enjoyed private beachfront instead of the state park and public access beach. The weather was perfect, we inhaled the smell of warm sand and sunblock, exhaled the travel stress and felt validated in our decision to relocate to this beautiful state surrounded by freshwater lakes that feel like oceans. There are few places more wonderful on a summer day than the beaches of Lake Michigan.
