Kids' Day

Today was Kids' Day at a toy store we like called Minds in Motion. There were several things that looked & sounded fun, but the thing that got me to actually put it on our calendar, invite Grandma Jan and go was the train painting for free. They had two different styles of Thomas the Tank Engine train pieces for children to choose from, paint brushes & paints of every color, and a name-label-maker. Simon's train got about 6 layers of paint and took all afternoon to dry; Anson's train got a few swipes with a few colors (with a little help from me) and then thought it would be more fun to paint the table, his face, his shirt...so I decided he was done. Now the kids both have their own trains - Simon's exceptionally geeked about his train with a face (thanks to a little help from Adam). We got some great deals on a few gifts for upcoming holidays as well. Way to go, Minds in Motion, for having a successful Kids' Day that was fun for our kids and for us!
